AlgoVPS Review 2026: Pricing, Specs and Better Alternatives
AlgoVPS sells three trading VPS plans on fast Ryzen hardware across six data centers. On paper it is one of the best spec sheets per dollar in the category. The paper is also where its two weakest points hide. Here is what we verified on the live site, what we could not, and who should pick QuantVPS instead.
Key Takeaways
- AlgoVPS sells three plans: Swing $45/month (4 cores, 10GB DDR5), Momentum $85/month (8 cores, 20GB) and Flow $175/month (16 cores, 40GB). Verified on algovps.com/pricing in October 2026.
- Every plan runs on the same AMD Ryzen 9 9950X hardware with DDR5 and NVMe Gen5, plus daily backups, a dedicated IP and Windows Server 2022/2025 or Ubuntu 24.
- The marketing says 100% uptime. The legal SLA commits to 99.9% on commercially reasonable efforts, with service credits as the sole remedy. Read the SLA, not the banner.
- AlgoVPS's Chicago server sits at 427 S La Salle in downtown Chicago and lists sub-1ms to exchanges. It publishes no exact figure to the CME matching engine in Aurora.
- Fees are non-refundable except for SLA failures, and crypto payments are never refunded in cash. Budget the first month as spent.
- Pick QuantVPS if you want a cheaper entry ($29.99 Starter), a published 0.52ms to CME figure and a futures-first platform stack. Pick AlgoVPS if you want more RAM and backups per dollar and do not need the cheapest door in.
What AlgoVPS Actually Is
Most people searching for AlgoVPS found it the same way you probably did. A forum thread, a comparison table, a name that sounds exactly like what it sells. That is good branding. It is not a review.
AlgoVPS is a trading VPS provider operated by Nitrode Corporation, according to its own footer and SLA. It rents Windows (and Ubuntu) virtual servers that sit in data centers near exchanges, so your trading platform keeps running when your laptop sleeps, your router reboots or your cat walks across the power strip.
The pitch is simple: three plans, one hardware platform, six locations. Every server runs on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors with DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage. You pick a size by how many charts you run, pick a city near your exchange or broker, and the site says you are deployed in about five minutes.
We checked the live pricing, infrastructure, SLA and refund pages in October 2026. Everything in this AlgoVPS review comes from those pages or is labelled as our opinion. Where AlgoVPS makes a claim we could not test, we say so. We have also covered it more briefly in our CME Aurora VPS providers reality check. Some of the older figures quoted around the web, including lower starting prices, no longer match what AlgoVPS charges today.
One note before the numbers. We earn a commission if you sign up for QuantVPS through our links. We do not earn anything from AlgoVPS. Weigh what follows with that in mind, and notice where AlgoVPS beats our own affiliate, because it does in places.
AlgoVPS Pricing: Three Plans, One Chip
AlgoVPS pricing is the cleanest lineup in the trading VPS market. Three plans. No Standard versus Plus families, no ten-tier ladder to decode.
- Swing: $45/month. 4 cores, 10GB DDR5, 100GB NVMe, dual monitor support. Pitched for 3 to 5 charts.
- Momentum: $85/month. 8 cores, 20GB DDR5, 200GB NVMe, up to 4 monitors. Labelled Most Popular, pitched for 5 to 10 charts.
- Flow: $175/month. 16 cores, 40GB DDR5, 300GB NVMe, up to 8 monitors. Pitched for 10+ charts.
Every plan includes the same list: 10Gbps network bandwidth, a dedicated IP, full admin or root access, daily automatic backups, 24/7 email and chat support, free migration assistance and setup help, and cancel-anytime billing. Annual billing gives you one month free, which AlgoVPS itself describes as about 8% off. When we checked, the site was also running 30% off the first month with code FIRST30. Promotions change, so check the pricing page before you count on it.
Payment is by card or PayPal, with wire transfers for enterprise accounts. The refund policy also covers crypto payments, which tells you some customers pay that way.
The hardware story is the real selling point. Every tier gets the same Ryzen 9950X, a current desktop-class chip with strong single-core speed. Trading platforms like NinjaTrader and MetaTrader lean on a few fast threads for charts and order handling, so a fast core matters more than a big core count for most retail traders. AlgoVPS does not make you pay a premium tier to get the fast chip. That is a genuinely trader-friendly decision.
The weakness is the floor. $45 is the cheapest way in. There is no thin execution-only box for the trader who runs one platform, one account and four charts. If that is you, you are paying for headroom you will not use. Our QuantVPS pricing breakdown shows how a cheaper entry tier changes that math.
Data Centers, Latency and the Chicago Question
Location is the product. Hardware decides how smoothly your platform runs. Geography decides how far your order travels before someone else fills it.
AlgoVPS lists six active data centers: Chicago (427 S La Salle), New York (Equinix NY7), London (Equinix LD4), Frankfurt (Equinix FR4 and FR7), Singapore (Equinix Johor) and Tokyo (Equinix TY15 and TY6). It claims connections to 13 exchanges across those cities, 15 network carriers and sub-millisecond latency to the exchanges it serves.
That is a broad map. Singapore is a location QuantVPS does not list, so if you trade SGX products or an Asia-hosted broker, AlgoVPS has a real edge. LD4 in London is a sensible spot for forex traders whose broker hosts there.
Now the Chicago question, because it is the one futures traders actually care about. The CME Globex matching engine lives in Aurora, Illinois, roughly 35 miles west of downtown. AlgoVPS's Chicago server is at 427 S La Salle, a downtown carrier hotel. Downtown Chicago to Aurora is a short fiber hop, and AlgoVPS states sub-1ms to CME, CBOT and CBOE. We have not measured it, and AlgoVPS publishes a ceiling, not a number.
That distinction matters for a narrow group. If you scalp ES or NQ with tight stops, you want a provider that publishes a specific figure you can test against. QuantVPS publishes 0.52ms to CME from its Chicago location. Neither number is a guarantee of your fills, and our Aurora VPS explainer covers why. But a specific number is a promise you can hold someone to. A ceiling is a promise that is hard to break.
For everyone who is not scalping CME futures, the honest answer is that both providers are close enough. Pick the city nearest your broker's server, run a ping test in your first week, and move on with your life.
The 100% Uptime Banner vs the Fine Print
Here is the thing most AlgoVPS reviews skip. The marketing and the contract say different things.
The pricing page promises 100% uptime and an SLA of 100% on every plan. The pricing FAQ says that for outages under 10 minutes you get 8 hours of service credit, scaling up to a full refund for outages over 48 hours.
The actual SLA document, last updated December 17, 2025, says something quieter. AlgoVPS will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep services available 99.9% of the time each month. The SLA states plainly that this target does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Credits run on a sliding scale based on monthly uptime: nothing above 99.95%, 5% between 99.9% and 99.95%, up to 100% credit below 98%. Credits apply to future bills, must be requested within 30 days, and are described as the sole and exclusive remedy. Scheduled maintenance and third-party outages are excluded.
To be fair, 99.9% is a normal, respectable commitment for this industry. The problem is not the number. The problem is the gap between the banner and the contract. When a company rounds its own promise up in marketing, you learn something about how it talks to you.
The refund policy is equally direct. All fees are non-refundable except where AlgoVPS terminates you without cause or the service materially fails its description or SLA, in which case you can request a refund within 30 days, granted at its discretion. Crypto payments are never refunded as cash, only as account credit. Idle or lightly used servers get no refund.
None of this is unusual. QuantVPS does not state a money-back guarantee either. The rule is the same for both: treat month one as spent, and test everything inside it.
AlgoVPS vs QuantVPS: Where Each One Wins
We sell QuantVPS. So let us start with where AlgoVPS beats it.
AlgoVPS wins on spec sheet per dollar. The $45 Swing gives you 4 Ryzen 9950X cores, 10GB DDR5, two monitors and daily backups. The closest QuantVPS plan, Lite at $59.99, gives you 4 EPYC cores, 8GB DDR4, one monitor and no automatic backups. You would need Lite+ at $79.99 to get Ryzen, DDR5 and backups, and it still lists one monitor. On raw hardware, AlgoVPS is the better deal at that size.
AlgoVPS also wins on simplicity, Ubuntu support and Singapore. Three plans are easier to choose from than ten. Ubuntu matters if you run Python or custom algos rather than a Windows charting platform.
QuantVPS wins on the entry price. The VPS Starter at $29.99 is $15 a month cheaper than anything AlgoVPS sells. For a trader running Tradovate or a lean NinjaTrader workspace on one account, that is $180 a year back in your pocket for a box that does the same job.
QuantVPS wins on the CME number. A published 0.52ms to CME versus a generic sub-1ms claim. For futures scalpers, that is the spec that matters most.
QuantVPS wins on futures depth and plan granularity. It lists 30+ platforms with the futures stack front and center: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic, Sierra Chart, Quantower. Ten tiers mean a multi-account prop trader can land on Pro or Pro+ without jumping from $85 straight to $175. It also covers Dublin and Amsterdam, which AlgoVPS does not.
The short version. If you want the most machine for $45 and you trade outside CME scalping, AlgoVPS is a legitimate choice. If you are a futures trader who wants the cheapest serious entry and a latency figure you can test, start with QuantVPS. Our full QuantVPS review covers the rest.
Other AlgoVPS Alternatives Worth a Look
QuantVPS is not the only exit. Three other paths make sense depending on what you trade.
Your broker's free VPS. If you trade spot forex with a broker like IC Markets or Pepperstone, check whether a sponsored VPS comes free once you hit a volume or deposit threshold. For a single EA on MT4 or MT5, free beats any of these plans. Our best VPS for forex trading guide covers who offers what.
A generic cloud server. For swing traders whose holds last days, a cheap generic Windows server does the job. You lose trading-aware support and the exchange-proximity story. You keep $20 to $30 a month. Our trading VPS vs home connection guide helps you decide whether you need a VPS at all.
Other Chicago-region providers. BeeksFX and Speedy Trading Servers both target the same futures crowd. We cover them, alongside AlgoVPS, in our Aurora VPS providers reality check, including the checklist to run during your first billing window.
The pattern across all of them is the same. The VPS is the cheapest line in a futures trader's budget. A single reset on a futures prop evaluation with FunderPro Futures or similar costs more than several months of any plan on this page. Do not save $15 a month and lose the account. And do not spend $175 a month to run four charts.
Verdict: Who Should Buy AlgoVPS
AlgoVPS is a solid trading VPS with a strong spec sheet, a clean three-plan lineup and a wide map. It is not a scam, it is not magic, and it is not the cheapest.
Buy AlgoVPS if you want fast Ryzen hardware, backups and dual monitors from the first tier, you trade from Singapore, Tokyo or LD4, or you run Ubuntu-based algos. For a multi-chart forex or equities trader, the $45 Swing is honest value.
Skip AlgoVPS if you are a CME futures scalper who wants a published latency figure, a single-account trader who only needs a lean execution box, or a multi-account prop trader who wants a tier between $85 and $175. In all three cases, QuantVPS fits better, starting at $29.99 a month.
Whichever you pick, do three things in month one. Ping your broker or exchange from the server during your busiest session. Run your full workspace at the open and watch CPU and RAM. Read the SLA and refund policy before you prepay a year. The server that survives your worst 15 minutes is the right one.
The best VPS is the one you forget exists. You only remember the one that failed.
